Barbara B is looking for a quilt book that is no longer in print. Version 1985 called Scrap Look author is Jenny Breyer. Any member that has this book, Barb would like to borrow it if possible. There are a few vacancies on the executive that need filling for 2021/2021. The positions are president, vice president, treasurer, librarian and in reach. Ideally the president would have executive experience. If you have any questions or are at all interested, please contact Mary or whoever is in the current position you are interested in. You can find everyone's email on the website: https://www.lfqg.ca/executive.html#/ It is a great way to be involved! Here's a little info on each position. President: Preside over all meetings. Reserve venue for monthly meetings. Key holder for the meeting place. Opens and closes the meeting place for each meeting. Liaison with Canadian Quilters’ Association (CQA) and Ontario Quilters’ Association (OQA) as well as other quilt Guilds as required. Approve Committee Coordinator expenses for submission to Treasurer for payment. Check the Guild e-mail on a regular basis and forward messages for distribution as appropriate. Vice-President: Assist the President as needed. Assume responsibility for special projects as necessary. Recruit nominees for vacant Executive positions to be presented at the April meeting each year. Purchase items for and put together draw basket for monthly draws at each Guild meeting. Treasurer: The Treasurer must have access to a computer with internet and have the skills to provide financial records/reports for verification purposes. i.e. income statements, bank reconciliations. Responsible for depositing all Guild funds to the Guild bank account. Issue all payments for approved expenses of Guild and Executive members only when a receipt for expenses is submitted. Maintain all records necessary for the annual verification of the Guild’s financial activities and prepare reports as required. Submit all financial records including a list of all assets owned by the Guild, to auditor no later than the end of October each year. Solicit advertising for the blog from local quilting related businesses. Librarian: Research and purchase books and resources for the library, based on the library budget set by the Executive. Provide library service at all Guild meetings. Ensure Library is culled on a regular basis. Inreach Coordinator: Provide a quilt to any member of the Guild who is experiencing life changing or life threatening illness, whether themselves or a significant other in their life. Store material and supplies needed to make the comfort quilts. Arrange for delivery of the comfort quilt to the member. I've updated this existing blog post. Does it send it out again?
